Camera Gimbal and Canon 50mm f1.4

Hello Ladies and Gents!

It’s been a busy past couple of weeks or so and I have not had much time to do anything besides work. My full-time job at Storm Cloud Marketing (www.stormcloud.marketing) has been crazy busy for clients then almost every weekend I am out shooting wedding films with Tim Toms photography (http://www.photographybytimtoms.com/) and then shooting sports here and there for the Joplin Globe.

The other day I finally got some time away from all of the jobs and went out with my Zhiyun Crane 2 and the Canon 50mm f/1.4 and went out to some local walking trails. the 50mm is a little slow for video on the autofocus side of things when compared to my usual go-to lenses, the 35mm f2, and 16-35mm L. One huge benefit to the 50mm is the shallow depth of field. The bokeh on the lens is great for video and photo but I loved how it turned out shooting video this week. Below you can see what I am talking about and just so you all know, this footage was shot in 60 frames per second. I adjusted the speed on the clips, some to 40% and some sped up to 150%. No post production stabilizer was done and it’s so smooth and that’s why I love my gimbal so far!

If all of you want to know more about the gimbal or the lens just comment below!

I am hoping to have more blogs coming soon and want to say thank you to the select few that keep coming back to my blog.

Until next time, stay ON THE SHUTTER!

PEACE!

$5 fisheye lens

Well, I was going to make this into a video but a blog post with photos will do.

At Walmart I always see the clip on phone lenses for like $5 and always say, nah. Last week I said you know what, it might be kind of fun. My wife bought it and I tried it out on our trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma. We were going there with the in-laws for a evening at the casino and since I wasn’t going to gamble I figured I’d try out the lens while I lost a tad bit of money.

As you can see its def a cool perspective and change but with any fisheye you will get the outlining black. They’re def not print worth images but to capture a place in a different way for $5 you can’t beat it an I right?

Anyways, the kit came with a slight wide angle and macro lens that I didn’t try out too much but the fisheye was def a cool feature to carry around in your pocket.

Well thanks for checking out another post. A new YouTube video will come in the next couple days showing footage from a recent client video that I had a blast on.

Until next time stay, On the Shutter!

Canon 85mm f/1.8 – Amazing Bokeh

Trying to be consistent on making videos and uping’ my video game, here is another one I have added to my youtube channel.

This video I show examples that I have gotten with the 85mm f/1.8 Canon lens. I own two Canon lenses as some of you may know from previous blogs. The 35mm f/2 and the 85mm. I love the sharpness and the bokeh the 85mm has to offer and for the price, you can’t beat it in my opinion. Sometime I will probably jump to the 85mm f/1.4 L lens just to have the extra stop and the even faster autofocus.

Do you all have a lens that you love and swear by?

I am always looking for new lenses..(don’t tell my wife. HA) In all seriousness, I love finding great lenses that are in decent price ranges, as I am sure everyone is. I say that because I feel like some people jump straight to the L series lenses, like the 50mm 1.2 and the 85mm 1.4 and never look at the options that will give you great results for cheaper.

Let me know your thoughts here or in my youtube comment section on lens suggestions or what you think of this lens.

As usual until next time… stay, ON THE SHUTTER!

Apple iPhone 8 120FPS- Slow Motion

As you see in my last few posts, I have been taking my blogs and base them off of the youtube videos I have been creating.

Since my last one was 120fps video on the Canon 5d Mark Iv, I thought I should do the same on my current cell phone. You can see the Canon is the better choice but for a run and gun option, the iPhone 8 is a great option. Check out the video below to see some sample footage along with the Canon footage for comparison. If you’re on youtube let me know you came from the blog on my videos or comment on here what your youtube channel is and ill subscribe to your page.

As always…

STAY ON THE SHUTTER!
